CLIC is beginning our second annual fundraiser: CLICsgiving 2024.
We hope to garner support from donors around the world and build a community of followers who are passionate about our childhood cancer research. Our members are volunteers, and CLIC is a non-governmental organization that relies on grants, gifts, and donations to fund our research projects. CLIC is raising funds to expand our partners’ research in countries around the world, continue to aggregate and analyze childhood cancer data sets, and support our semi-annual scientific conference.
This year, we would like to highlight the burden of childhood cancer around the world and introduce countries and studies that are active in CLIC or will be joining CLIC projects over the next year. Childhood cancer affects populations around the world, but low- and middle- income countries (LMIC) carry more burden from these rare diseases. Based on rates of disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs), 82.2% of global childhood cancer DALYs occurred in LMIC (see map) (Force et al., 2019). Because of this, CLIC is seeking to cultivate studies in LMIC and underrepresented populations so we can research causes in these distinct areas and hopefully influence childhood cancer prevention and treatment. CLIC needs your support for developing research in important areas like genomics and geographic information systems and incorporating new studies and data from researchers who share our passion for finding the causes of childhood cancer.

CLICsgiving 2024 will be active from November 1 to December 31. The more support we receive through our CLICsgiving page from November 1 to November 20, the “Early Giving” period, the more chances we have of earning a Golden Ticket prize drawing and earning more funds toward our childhood cancer research. Receiving donations on Give to the Max Day on November 21 will have the biggest impact since it is the largest non-profit annual giving holiday in Minnesota, USA, and will have even more opportunities for a Golden Ticket.
We are very grateful for the generosity of our donors, and with their help, we have hope for a future without childhood cancer. CLIC would also greatly benefit from your simple efforts to share our cause and donation page on social media and follow us on LinkedIn.
